Black Sunday is a hard charging Alt-Country band out of New Braunfels Texas. They are led by front man AJ Johnston, who is A combat deployed paratrooper, with an amputated leg above the knee. They bring sounds that have heart broken lyrics, with punk rock energy. Influenced by bands like Slobberbone, Lucero, Reckless Kelly, and Social distortion; Black Sunday offers a unique take on country music that was made popular by bands in the 1990’s. Songs that you can connect with, but also feel the thrill of rock, during a live performance. Black Sunday released its debut album this year and focused on rawness and authenticity once seen in the early Texas Country/Red Dirt scene.
